Amanita, bringer of Death - CDC "Mushroom Fighter"

Amanita is a tiny but fierce fighter. Not only she is highly poisonous (talk about toxic personality!), but her mutant Exsudoporus mount also attracts and eats the smallest intruders and unlucky travelers who cross their paths...
These two definitely aren't the nicest mushrooms in the forest, to say the least!

This is my entry for this month's Character Design Challenge , theme is "Mushroom Fighter".

I aaaabsolutely adore mushrooms (mycology is one of my many passions) so I just couldn't pass the opportunity to paint these guys, despite a certain lack of free time. The mushrooms you can see here are Amanita phalloïdes (Death Cap), Exsudoporus frostii (the angry mount), some glowing Mycena, an old Hygrocybe conica (the tiny dark mushroom, though they usually have a wet/gooey cap instead of a wrinkly one, but I though it would look more fun with a bit more texture here), and a Trametes versicolor as the saddle.
