What lies beneath the surface

An old painting from my deep sea mermaids series.
I painted this back in 2007 or 2008, however it underwent major changes over the years, I repainted a lot of it to add some atmosphere and depth (I would actually do many things differently today, but I prefer focusing on newer pieces instead of spending my scarce free time painting over my old stuff).
This version is from late 2016, I had reworked it for an Abyss themed exhibition that took place at Le Salon Fantastique in Paris, France.
