Dancing Mad - CDC "Final Fantasy"

My entry for this month's Character Design Challenge , an early 17th century Kefka Palazzo.
This one is heavily inspired by the 1620 - 1630 men's fashion in England, but it is not 100% historically accurate as I still wanted to retain elements from Yoshitaka Amano's original design.

I love villains, and this dude is an especially awesome one, to say the least!

I wanted to depict him as a sick person poisoned by magic rather than wearing a lot of makeup, those veins were quite fun to paint 😄

Quick rough sketches for the pose (before deciding I wanted to give him a "Dancing Mad" stance)

Quick color test on one of these rough sketches (my initial plan was to show his final god version in the reflection).
